Nestled deep in the picturesque countryside of France, there stands an old abandoned house. The locals all whisper rumored stories about its mysterious past, but very few have ever stepped foot on the overgrown property. Us urban explorers had also heard the tales about the house and the old legends that surrounded it, leaving us shrouded in curiosity and wanting to go have a look at this abandoned house ourselves.
It was on one bright sunny morning, that we decided to go and explore the old house. As we ventured closer, we noticed the house was surrounded by nearly impenetrable overgrown weeds, vines, and worst of all thorns. Some of the windows were boarded up, as if hiding something sinister behind its walls.
Undeterred, we pushed through the thicket and found ourselves standing in front of an open window. With deep breaths and full of nervous energy, we both climbed inside. As we carefully tiptoed through each the cobwebbed rooms, we found old, abandoned antique furniture and personal possessions covered in dust, debris, and plaster. We found many old faded photographs of a the family from long ago. We could suddenly feel the history of the house seeping into our bones, and we couldn't help but wonder about the family in the photos, the same family who once called this place home.
With cautious steps, we made our way up the stairs to three different bedrooms. It was there that the old abandoned house would be shrouded in more mystery. We uncovered some paperwork about the allusive family who had lived in the house many years ago. It appeared that they had been happy and carefree, making a good living from farming the land surrounding the home until something tragic happened and they had to leave in a hurry. Was there a sudden and unexpected death? Did the home become too expensive to maintain? Did they somehow loose their farm?
We both felt a twinge of sadness as we remembered the photographs, realizing that the old house had once been filled with love and laughter. With a sense of reverence, we left the house, and made it our goal to help preserve the memories of this abandoned house in France through our video, so that the stories of its past would never be forgotten.
The old house in the French countryside continues to sit abandoned but at least our curiosity had brought light to the forgotten history of the mysterious old house and the family that once lived here.
