In today's video we get the chance to explore an old abandoned strip club that was closed down after reports came out of various illegal activities. After several stories of strange happenings and potential illegal activity spread like a wildfire throughout the city, the owners were left with no other choice but to permanently close the "gentleman's club." The slew of alleged violations sure didn't help matters. Some of the rumors included illegal drug use, prostitution, serving alcohol after hours, underage drinking, and most notably, hiring underage dancers. Intrigued by these rumors surrounding the place, we decided to venture inside ourselves to see all that was left behind.
As we approached the building, the air grew heavy and a sense of curiosity washed over us. The door creaked open, revealing a dark, eerie interior, but surprisingly there was a couple of dim lights illuminating certain areas, meaning the power was still partially on. We hesitated for a moment, but our excitement got the best of us and we stepped inside.
The interior was just as we had expected - dusty, decayed, and covered in cobwebs. The main stage was partially still intact with one stripper pole protruding from one end of the catwalk, but the chairs and tables were scattered haphazardly, giving the place an unsettling vibe. As we continued to document our way through the club, we couldn't help but wonder about the lives that had once intersected within these same walls, the stories of both the dancers and patrons who had passed through its doors.
During the explore we were almost immediately greeted by the overwhelming amount of rather interesting stuff left behind. Among the remnants of the club's past, we stumbled upon decaying dressing rooms, each one seemingly frozen in time. We also found the VIP section, where each small room held a chair behind a thick velvet like curtain. This was obviously made so that the dancers could entertain their patrons in a more one-on-one private setting. We couldn't help but to notice the amount of safe sex that was being practiced in the club, as evidenced by the amount of condoms on the floor and even some stuffed into cracks within the walls.
Furthermore, we found refrigerators stocked full of outdated liquor and skunked beer, old posters, game props, magazines, and so much more….giving us a glimpse into the lives of the one time patrons and of the performers who once graced and strutted down the catwalk. One thing stood out, the abandoned strip club had been a bustling spot in its heyday, but now lays dormant, a ghostly relic of a bygone era.
As we emerged from the dilapidated strip club and into the fresh air, we couldn't help but to think that we had proven and validated some of the reports and rumors that had plagued the club, leading to its final closure.
